Young Entrepreneur of Sweden – 2009?

A couple of weeks ago I got nominated for best young entrepreneur in Sweden (west side). This was really flattering but my expectations was small. I was up against more promosing and much better entrepreneurs such as Eric Martinsson & Therese Albrechtson. Against my expectations I won that nomination and now I’m one of the finalists in the national event in Stockholm. They recorded a video of me. Unfortunately the video is in Swedish but you’re welcome to have a look anyway even though you don’t understand. Just click on the picture below:

Jurys motivation: ” This year’s young entrepreneur in western Sweden has developed a service to help very many people to get work. Thousands of people have been recruited to Norwegian companies already. The contractor proved the first step in an interesting business building. The contractor is focused and has the ambition to take the company forward to the next “Ryan Air – Recruitment”

Video teaser – Entrepreneur Gala 2009

Vote for the best Young Entrepreneur 2009 HERE.

The winner of this award will be presented at the Entrepreneur Gala in Stockholm the 24th of September 2009. The elite of the Swedish entrepreneurs are there and the event is stunning. If you cast a vote on any of the competitors you have the oppertunity to win free tickets. I would really appreciate that you cast your vote on the most promising entrepreneur and not just on me if you personally know me. Honestly I think I don’t have a chance against the other competitors. What do you think?

Up against the Swedish young elite:

My competitors Marcus, Mattias and Ida are all three very successful entrepreneurs and they all deserve to win this competition. Unfortunately I don’t know them personally yet, but I hope I will meet them in Stockholm the 24th of September when the winner is named.

Marcus Anzengruber, founder of Constant

Mattias Tyrberg, founder of Saplo

Ida Backlund, founder of Rapunzel

Creative, impressive and a bit geeky.

You can make music from almost everything. This guy made this song ONLY by using the Windows XP & 98 sounds. Don’t forget, everything is possible – the one thing you have to do is to think creative!

15.000 CV’s in 1 year

We launched our new system and user interface 17 may 2008 (Norways national day). After exactly one year we drew a line and made some statistics. Some really interesting things came up. Over 15.000 CV’s were registered which not may sound so much compared with 2 million Facebook users. But if you put 15.000 CV’s compared with Swedens biggest CV-database (AMS – arbetsförmedlingen) who only has around 5000 CV’s you get the picture. In one year we’ve got more than three times the size of theirs database. That’s quite good isn’t it?SverigeNorge.se_Statistik

According to our statistics over 1500 people got a job in Norway thanks to our site during year 2008. The comparison was made between Swedish people who wants to work in Norway, not the total amount of CV’s in the database.

YouTube + TED change Hans Roslings life

You’ve never seen data presented like this. With the drama and urgency of a sportscaster, statistics guru Hans Rosling debunks myths about the so-called “developing world.” Hans is one of the best presenters in the world according to me and I will promise you that this presentation is worth watching.

The Swedish TV-channel SVT made a really good documentary film about how it change his life:

After Hans Rosling made this presentation he had to put away his academic career – now everyone wants to listen to what he has to say about internationl health. This was made possible threw the amazing site TED and YouTube.

My grandfather, Harry Nord, and my father Yngve Nord both met Hans while working in Mozambique in 1982-83 with charity. Both of them told me he was a special and very inspiring man.
